How can component manufacturers provide their customers with digital twins?

For component manufacturers, the availability of a digital twin of their hardware products is increasingly becoming a decisive sales argument. While CAD models with 3D geometry data have become standard in this regard, the demand for digital twins with additional behavioral data (4D) is now also steadily increasing.

Via the TwinStore - the online 4D component catalog - component manufacturers can upload their created digital twins to their own library in just a few steps and thus make them available to their customers with one click, either free of charge or for a fee. They therefore receive models whose quality or validity is guaranteed. The direct connection to the simulation software ISG-virtuos considerably shortens the modeling time for digital plants. Users drag and drop the corresponding models from the TwinStore component catalog and integrate them into ISG-virtuos.

TwinStore using KEB as an example

KEB uploads prefabricated digital twins of its hardware components including documentation in the TwinStore. Customers who want to create a digital twin of their machine/plant can now find the required components in the KEB library and can easily import them into ISG-virtuos after approval by KEB or purchase. Hence, only the modeling of components from other manufacturers, who have not yet provided ready-made digital twins of their plants/machines, is still required.

Find out what other advantages arise for machine and plant builders from the creation of digital twins and which requirements are necessary for the inclusion in TwinStore in this interview with Managing Director Dr. Christian Scheifele and Tobias Wenneker, Product Manager Drives KEB Automation:
