The latest version of ISG-virtuos is here! With ISG-virtuos v3.8, we introduce new functionalities and features that make simulation workflows more flexible, more powerful, and easier to integrate into existing engineering environments.
From automated scripting to advanced physics simulation and improved control integration, the new release provides a range of enhancements designed to streamline simulation projects.
Here are some of the key highlights:
Open Virtuos API: From code to simulation
The new OpenVirtuosAPI enables full programmatic control of ISG-virtuos. Instead of relying solely on the graphical interface, models and simulations can now be created and controlled through scripts.
With support for Python and C#, the API makes it easier to automate recurring tasks, integrate simulation into engineering pipelines, and connect ISG-virtuos with existing development environments.
HIFIphys: More realistic physics simulation
The introduction of the HIFIphys physics engine significantly enhances simulation detail. It enables high-resolution simulation of physical effects while remaining flexible enough to work alongside existing physics engines.
Additional material-flow components and extended collision models make it easier to simulate complex processes and mechanical systems with greater realism.
Virtual Fieldbus Component Generation: Faster Integration of control systems
ISG-virtuos v3.8 also simplifies the connection between simulation and real control systems. With improved virtual fieldbus component generation, device mappings can be created once and reused across identical setups.
Integration with the Beckhoff Engineering Tool also allows variables to be exported directly from TwinCAT projects, speeding up the overall workflow.
Workspace improvements
Finally, the ISG-virtuos workspace has been further refined to enhance usability. New layout options, improved window management, and optimized project organization help users work more efficiently.
