The ISG Motion Control Platform (ISG-MCP) is a PLC function block library to command the ISG Motion Control Engine. It provides the function blocks, data structures and state diagrams conform to the PLCopen motion control specification part 1, 2 and 4.
With the ISG-MCP the PLC application programmer can implement movement tasks on a PLC that is conform to IEC 6-1131. All the necessary motion functions, like interpolation, position control, drive interface, and so on, are hidden to the PLC application programmer.
The motion functions are generated by the ISG Motion Control Engine (ISG-kernel). So, additional to the single axes functions of PLCopen Part 1 and 2, you can also use a wide spectrum of CNC functions, which e.g. are necessary for coordinated motion of PLCopen part 4.
Additional to the function blocks specified by PLCopen for motion control, ISG-MCP provides various function blocks, that are necessary for general automation. Find more detailed information in the documentation "ISG Motion Control Platform for PLCopen".
